Ct.Wedding Florists: Brides and Wedding Bouquets

I am always trying to get a great shot...(I sound like the photographer) so I can share the joy my Brides have when they first touch and hold their bouquets. I am not always in the right place at the right time with my delivery schedule so when I do capture the feeling .......I love sharing it.
Just in from Sasha:
Hello Debra!
I just wanted to take a moment to say Thank You for your beautiful flowers. The colors looked amazingly radiant...and people especially my mother in-law could not stop raving about them. They looked gorgeous against the blue dresses and my ivory gown. It was just perfect and you did a wonderful job! Thank You for making our day so perfect!
Kind Regards,Sasha

I have 2 very different Brides and 2 very different looks.....Every bride offers me the opportunity to find a way to bring their personal signature into their wedding bouquet.

Diane's signature, she loved dahlias. And just in:
Hi, Debra
Josh and I can not thank you enough for the outstanding job you did preparing our flowers for our wedding. We were beyond thrilled with how beautiful they looked. You were able to capture absolutely every detail that we ever spoke about, and did a terrific job creating all of the bouquets, centerpieces, and other arrangements. We can not tell you how many compliments we received from our guests - who would like to extend a special thank you for your creativity with the bubble balls with flowers under water.. Many of our guests have terrible reactions to aromas, perfumes, and unfortunately floral arrangements. They praised the bubble balls because it allowed them to enjoy the flowers, the centerpieces, and the reception as a whole. We can not stress how gorgeous the bridal and bridesmaid bouquets were. The dahlias were perfect in every sense, from the color to their shapes, to the bouquet in general. The vibrant color was an amazing match for the fantastic weather and backdrop of the day. Thank you again for everything, Josh and I are so incredibly pleased with your work. We have recommended Bakes and Baldwin to our friend Naralys (one of the bridesmaids) who is getting married in November of 2009. She's so excited to start the planning process!

Brides and Bouquets, with endless signatures.
I just love it.

Ct.Wedding Florist"Destination Wedding" to Saybrook Pt.Inn, Ct.

Jen contacted me months ago, from California. Jen's fast pace career, and traveling around the world, brought her great satisfaction to create her "Destination Wedding" in Saville, Spain. Saville, with it's vast cultural treasures, filled all their expectations. East Coast 2nd "Destination Wedding", Saybrook Point Inn. http://www.saybrook.com/
After offering Jen 3 looks inspired by Saville, she chose beautiful spanish inspire tiles, a heavy gold antiqued container with bright red roses and dahlias. As she said, "Thank you," "Thank you."
As I said it, "Great fun for me."

Ct.Wedding Florist: With a Fairy Tale Twist

Breigh's key words: Romantic, Romantic, Romantic....with a fairy tale twist.

The Riverview in Simsbury, Ct. http://www.riverviewcatering.net/ offered a beautiful backdrop of large majestic arched windows and sparkling crystal chandeliers.

My photos do not even begin to capture the feeling of aweness that the ceremony site created.
Our "Grand Madame" Huppah sat perfectly, soft and romantic, waiting for the bride and groom.

I love this candid shot..Breigh at her best. Later I passed by and I captured a formal shot of her waiting for the photographer.
This family's loving emotion and sincere gratitude and appreciation left me speechless.

I honor that Breigh's wedding flowers will hold a place in her heart forever, making my career so worthwhile.

Our reception site showcased old world urn centerpieces and soft natural garden flowers with cascading ivy.....Rose petals scattered the base.

I had to include this photo of the cake along with the backdrop.

I salute Breigh, her Mom and her Aunt for all their hard work. A thank you note from Breigh's Aunt just came in:

Debra, Nick, and Staff,

There is absolutely no words to express the, "out of this world" work you did yesterday. We are still so overwhelmed with the beauty of the entire event, all due to the most gorgeous floral pieces we have ever seen. Janis (mom) will be calling you, Debra, to express these same thoughts, but she said, and I quote, "No, I can't call Debra today. I don't want to cry!!!!! (happy tears). We are so very grateful to have had the extreme pleasure of working with you, and now must find another event to host so we can come back.

Thank you all and stay well.

What a perfect fairy tale wedding with a perfect new beginning on Breigh's wedding day.

Love to you all.

Ct.Wedding Florist:Danna and Sam

I have beautiful photos of Danna's bouquet and beautiful photos of her ceremony site. Often I am not in the right place or right time to capture the joy and laughter that the photographer can.
Katherine at www.kiernanphotography.com/weddings2008.html captured all the beauty in a slide show of Danna and Sam. They were wed outside on the patio at Saybrook Pt. Inn. http://www.saybrook.com/ on June 22, 08.
What a wonderful couple!!!

Orchids were suspended and lit under water along with floating candles.
Guests were fascinated with something new and innovative.
Danna and Sam brought joy to all who attended. We had such a great time.
Thanks to Katerine at Kiernanphotography.
Thanks to Saybrook Pt. Inn
And most of all Thanks to Danna and Sam.
We wish you such joy.

Ct.Wedding Florist: Nature's Bliss......Orchids

I could start out by giving a lesson on the historical value the orchid has had......Like during the Middle Ages, the orchid was considered an aphrodisiac and was used in love potions...... Or that the Greeks considered the orchid as a representation of virility......just Google.
As a painter, I am always fascinated by the endless combinations we can create using orchids predominately or as accents.....I have collected photos from our collection on wedding bouquets to share and inspire......Enjoy.

Creation is endless......Nature's Bliss........and to think that we can access these most amazing flowers in combinations, from around the world.....intimately holding them close to our heart on the only day, our wedding day.

Ct.Wedding Florist: Marrying soft and romantic with modern

Special thanks to Erik Johnson, (my most wonderful friend) at Scandinavian Photography, www.theartofseeing.com, for his unique expertise behind the camera. His generosity in sharing these photos and his knowledge in digital photography has been instrumental in my visual success.
Can all gowns be so beautiful?.....Jill's was. She chose an ivory Melissa Sweet gown, soft, and romantic, with layers of sunburst pleated net and french lace. Her gown required a soft delicate bouquet of white scabiosa, queen anne's lace, gardenias and white roses, mimicking the gown texture perfectly. For a modern touch we interwove curly willow tips throughout.
I was so pleased, surprising Jill, with a specially designed couture bouquet handle. Creating a ruffled skirt of pleated net from her gown material was my challenge for the week. She loved it.
Check out the bridesmaids.....bouquets of white cymbidium orchids, succulents, and green hanging amaranth....very modern for very modern dresses.
New modern design showcases beautifully intergrated into a soft and romanitc theme.
Special thanks to Jill and her sister, Gina. We really got it right.
