Ct.Wedding Florists: Guilford Yacht Club and Barbara's Beautiful Wedding Flowers

My first and only shot of Barbara was taken before she walked down the aisle in St. George's church in Guilford. She was very gracious.......and nervous.....She had all her bridesmaid's gathered around to lighten and support her journey down the aisle.
What better colors to coordinate beautifully with blue dresses, than blue hydrangea and green cymbidium orchids.

The Guilford Yacht Club http://www.gyc.com/ looked great. We chose blue, yellow and white to dress up the space. We had make the square boxes and used a crackle finish to create beachy feel, along with shells, square votives and soft natural garden flowers.

Thanks to Jordan Caterers http://www.jordancaterers.com/ and most of all to Barbara and her wonderul family. It was wonderful day.

Ct.Wedding Flowers: French Blue meets Hawaiian at Water's Edge

Gretchen's inspiration came from an envelope she showcased in french blue (considering this for her bridal party dress color) and loved the color red. She was very apprehensive as she considered her color scheme. I loved it!!!

Her wonderful groom, and his family's Hawaiian heritage helped to create their perfect signature throughout the day. They shipped in from Hawaii traditional wedding flowers, maile lei's for the men, and traditional white dendrobium lei's, so intricately made, even I was in awe.

What a perfect evening on the lawn of Water's Edge. http://www.watersedge-resort.com/
Hawaiian maile lei's were hung to help create a feeling of Hawiian heritage.

Inside the Royal ballroom we brought the tropical feel in using monastera leaves in all their glory. We spiraled red tulips underwater in tall modern glass cylinders. The Royal ballroom looked fabulous.

As you can see the combinations of french blue and red were just perfect. Family heritage and traditions deepen and add layers in creating the perfect wedding. My job is to unify visually within these boundaries.
I was thrilled, as was the Bride and Groom.
Thank you, Gretchen for your wonderful vision.

Or do you find the darker backdrop more exciting? We have endless combinations of flower colors and the next years designer fabrics in the most amazing colors, to create magic.
The program I am using is new and such great fun. From movies, to videos, to photos with backdrops......What a creative winter!!!

Ct.Wedding Florists: Kelly's Riverhouse Wedding Flowers, Ct.

I walked upstairs at the Riverhouse, www.riverhouse.com to deliver the bridal party bouquets, and give hugs to the Bride, and sitting there, in front of me, were these Jr. Bridesmaids waiting together just after they had their hair done. How cute is this!!! I love this picture. "My future brides."
The Bridal bouquet contained burgundy, lavender, and white posi callas with white roses and orange makara orchids. Lavender was important since the bridal party gowns were black with lavender. The makara was a perfect choice for the autumnal feel.
As I have said before, I love to capture the Bride as she sees the bouquet for the first time.
She was so gracious to let me take a photo....thanks so much Kelly.
The flower girl loved her flowers so much she asked me to take a photo of her. She even chose the spot.
Isn't she cute!!

Kelly know exactly what she wanted and had seen this upright container at her tasting.
She fell in love with the hanging french votives (which we cannot see in this photo). There were 5 per table hanging of the french wire upright she rented from us. Using fall-like branching along with rings of flowers at the base, we created the scale the ballroom can handle beautifully.

Kelly understood the value of our rentals and utilized them beautifully.
Kelly, Bravo to you, I wish you all the best.

Ct.Wedding Florists:"Riverhouse Tasting Two"

We always have such a wonderful time creating as much beauty with flowers as we can using the Riverhouse, http://www.riverhouse.com/ as a perfect backdrop. We start with a grand arrangement at entry. This is also the first visual a bride sees as she walks down the staircase for the first time. We always raffle off a wedding bouquet......Hey, Girls, I would love to know who won the bouquet.

Each Bride is gifted with a tiny bouquet, using orchids and ribbons.....This is a true labor of love......

We are always looking for new and creative ideas....Modern is the new trendy look.. I wish I could have taken a photo in the evening. The shade, along with the orchids under water, lit up the table. Random white orchid strands were hung to add a little whimsy. This was great fun for us.

And who could resist rose petals along with a beautiful arrangement for a table centerpiece.

We are totally devoted to new and exciting ideas.
Thanks so much to the Riverhouse, Jim, Libby and Ivy and all my Brides.
We look forward to another great year.

Ct.Wedding Florist:"The Colors were Perfect"

As you can see I am thrilled to have these fabulous photos taken by Steven Charles
http://www.stevencharles.com/. These photos showcase the amazing color combinations we used to express Pam's unique and personal style. Saybrook Point Inn, http://www.saybrook.com/ became the perfect venue. Just look at this backdrop, need I say more.

We chose very different colors and flowers. We often see traditional colors on blue gowns. It was great fun to explore new ideas.

Pam and her mom were a joy to work with, they trusted my expertise, my vision and together we really created a spectacular visual that Pam will forever have.

"Farm to Table Harvest Celebration"

The Connecticut Public Broadcasting hosted "Farm to Table Harvest Celebration" at the Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station. www.riverhouse.com Great chefs, Jeff Steelman, Mohegan Sun, Paul Barron, Rizzuto's Wood Fire Kitchen and Bar, Mark Shadle, I'ts only Natural Restaurant, Stefan Drago, The Society Room of Hartford and Riverhouse Catering, and Leo Bushey, The Hartford, Club all came together to create a delectable dinner using Connecticut grown foods, produce, and livestock. Their creative nohow titillated my taste buds.....and all the guests who attended.
We were challenged with table centerpieces from the "Farm to the Table" and created designs that brought forth guest curiosity and just plain fun. The apple design was tall and showy.......
This was the hit of the night...We hand crafted candle shades using green beans and I just love zinnias in mass.

This very natural garden bouquet came from my garden. It was just beautiful, the photo does not do it justice. The hanging amaranth is the only thing used that I purchased.

We did celebrate, Jim, Libby, Ivy and Kellie from the Riverhouse and Amy Williamson, Special Events and Development Coordinator for CPTV and all hands it took to create a great evening, great flowers, great food, great space and most of all to embrace our local resources with outstanding craft.

Dear, Bakes and Baldwin
Thank you so much for the beautiful table centerpieces you created for the CPTV "Farm to Table Harvest Celebration." The absolutely completed the look and feel of the room. I would love to work with you in the future.

Amy Williamson

Ct.Wedding Florist: Joy's wedding flowers at "The Riverhouse"

It was Courtney and Daniels wedding day at The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station www.theriverhouse.com I was so thrilled when Courtney sent me these photos. Courtney was so inspired by our floral presentation at the Riverhouse tasting she attended in the spring. She loved the traditional soft and romantic feel and chose all roses, spray roses and glass crystals for her wedding bouquet.

Soft pastel pinks work beautifully with taupe gowns.......

And yes, the Flower girl was just so shy....she did let me take her shot.

Dear Debra,

I wanted to thank you and your staff for such a wonderful job. We had so many compliments on the flowers. They came out better than I expected. You said you would help make the day beautiful and you did I will pass your name along to all my friends and family who are planning on getting married!

Thanks again,
Joy & Daniel
The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station

It was a Joyful day filled with all the feeling Joy(the brides last name)

or Courtney had visually hoped for for years....She was a joy and I truly enjoyed every aspect of her joyful day.

Ct.Wedding Florists: Riverhouse Wedding Flower Ceremonies

The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station, http://www.theriverhouse.com/ has a beautiful area for wedding ceremonies.
The first photo has a traditional flare. What a wonderful opportunity to create grandness, using the columns and creating a frame of greens. Our client rented our handled urns and the traditional pedestals.

On a more romantic, yet modern look, we created spheres of flowers in all different sizes.
We also wrapped the columns with tulle to soften the lines........This was breathtaking.

This Ceremony decor has a soft and romantic feeling along with feminine glass vases.
The simplicity of modern pedestals work beautifully along with this traditional feeling.
The chair markers filled in the aisle space and we scattered rose petals.......I haven't got a shot of that.

I love this space .......The ideas are endless for each Riverhouse Ceremony. I am looking forward to another great year with new ideas and endless photos to share.

Ct.Wedding Florist: "Water's Edge" at it's best

What a magical night at Water's Edge. http://www.watersedge-resort.com/ .We helped create wonder......with hot colors, and elegant rich golds throughout. The key word for this wedding was " Elegant multi cultural with a Moroccan Like flair." The photos tell it all.

Loved these pomiander balls.

We hand crafted this huppah throughout the winter months, and enjoyed installing this grand gold organza huppah with orange accents. Inside we tufted the ceiling in gold, and the 4 corners were accented with Moroccan lanterns. Aisle cones, filled with red rose petals, decorated the aisle and matched the hand made aisle runner covered with Moroccan fabric with edges weaved with gold.
None of the photos captured this. Too bad. And of course, rose petals.....

We greeted guests with a grand entry arrangement. The gold branching, ceiling height and painted gold held the multi colored crystal strands perfectly.

We hung draperies from ceiling to floor. We back dropped the head table with hundreds of strands of capiz shells.
These shells captured the light, crystallizing the ballroom.

Circles of flowers, a Moroccan theme and 42 hot pink votives lit.

I could write endlessly about all the wonderful things that made this wedding so spectacular....but I am writing a blog and I hope you, my reader, will get the essence of this through the photos. Thank God, we have the photos to remember.
