Cascades of crystals, and beautiful drapes are a perfect backdrop at our ceremony site. I brought

pin spot lighting and focused it on the crystals......Wow!! They SPARKLED perfectly~~

After the ceremony the staff of "The Riverhouse" moved these grand altar pieces into the ballroom to

flank the sweetheart table......

Nice to see the guests seated.......It's not often my timing is perfect for a shot like this.

This little guy is the cutest little guy I have seen in a long time. He would not look at me no matter what. If only I had a lollipop....that would have done it!!

This adorable little girl posed for me.....What does that say about little girls all dressed up with flowers in her hair and her tussie-mussie?

This is Matt (banquet manager) everyone........He is a great guy!!! The foyer table arrangement is not to shabby either........I will take a bow........

Tall centerpieces along with low centerpieces offered an elegance, to an already beautiful ballroom.

Can't even thank you enough for all you did for Kate and Dave's reception on Sat. July 9th! Everything was wonderful - so many people told us it was the best wedding they had ever attended. The set-up on the balcony was amazing - it looked so beautiful with the harvest table, bar, etc.!! The appetizers and dinner were delicious - and everything went off like clockwork! It was truly amazing, and there was nothing that could have been done any better!! Also Matt, Kelly (and friend) did a beautiful job on the candy table - can't believe how beautiful that looked. Kate's photographer took pics of it (which I know will be more clear than mine) so as soon as we get the professional ones, we will forward to you!!)

Also, your staff was so courteous and professional - I just can't say enough about what a great evening it was.

I also want to thank you for the vendors you recommended: Debra (Bakes and Baldwin) did such a beautiful job with the flowers and Dave Murphy (Mike Connolly) did a fantastic job as DJ. - can't believe that everyone danced all night long -- even me!!! And the Inin at Middletown did a wonderful job with accommodations, post wedding breakfast - etc.

A beautiful day for Amanda........The lawn was a perfect setting for our "Arch"

We tulled the columns to soften.........

We had a great time creating "Wimsy" with her accents.......Black feathers, billy balls

and fern curls textured these vibrant roses. We added white feathers to her bouquet......

How about candleabras.........the garlands at the base grounded these candleabras perfectly and

once again brought "Wimsy"........

It was a wonderful day "Thanks" to Water's edge, always a pleasure!!!

Bethany and Elijah were wed at the Eolia Mansion at Harkness Park in Waterford, Ct.

Bethany loved the gardens and had offered tours to tourists at the Mansion in the past.

Creating a natural garden wedding was such fun....Color scheme was a soft blue and lavender.

How can you go wrong. We stayed traditional with her bouquet and added accents of blue and lavender. Her bridesmaid wore lavender, a great backdrop for her brighter color combinations.

Using the "Pergola" is just amazing for a wedding. We love to use the columns at the entry

and have the bride and groom stand in front of them. The backdrop for photos showcases all

the lattice work.....Mrs. Harkness would be proud.....

The foyer entry looked so beautiful with the traditional silver urn and lavender, blue and cream.

My photos do not do this arrangement justice.......It had a "WoW" factor........

Centerpieces were natural garden in silver revere bowls and complemented the table decor.

Check out:Gina, (senior event coordinator) for A thyme to Cook She has catered to so many Brides and Broom's and guests at this venue. I would like to thank her and her wonderful staff for the extra care and willingness to jump in. Team work is so very important and we as seasoned vendors know what it takes!!! (yes, I know we have a little blur....but otherwise a nice shot of Gina)

So I send best wishes to Bethany and Elijah. It was a perfect setting for them and a

wonderful way to showcase their commitment to each other. Yay!!!

Sara had a very unique vision. She loves natural........branches, mosses, bark. I love challenges...

Everyone always asks, how did you come to this combination of flowers? My artistic eye, and libraries of photos in my office helped pinpoint perfectly every flower Sara loved.

The large green flower surprised everyone........Can you believe that is a sunflower without

it's petals.........Look at the textures we created with that flower.........I loved it!!!

Madison Beach Club lawn is so intimate......I surprised Sara by taking our pedestals

and covering them with birch branching and mosses. The glass cylinders gave our design

a modern feel but the 3 arrangements were very natural garden. And our chair makers

fit perfectly.

Centerpieces were even more fun...........we did a very natural garden bouquet for each table.

Sara's Mom was a joy and I was thrilled to be a part of Sara's vision. I send her off with

such "appreciation" that I could experience parts of their life. Jordan Catering it is always

a "pleasure"......a GREAT TEAM makes for a great wedding... And "thanks" to Marissa,(from Jordan Catering) she co-ordinated every detail perfectly.

Love, Love this wedding design........it has been a while since we designed a "Classic." Eolia Mansion at Harkness Park in Waterford, Ct. is a perfect backdrop. I am sure the Mrs. Harkness would have been

It has taken me too long to write this letter but better late than never I suppose. I just wanted to
send much appreciation to you and your staff for truly creating the atmosphere that I dreamed of for my wedding day.

The entire process of discussing flowers and centerpiece options was enjoyable. You were easy to bounce
ideas off of and I really felt like you understand what it was I was looking for. When I walked into the ballroom on our wedding day and it was clear you understood perfectly. The room looked stunning... unique, warm, elegant, and definitely one of a kind. Throughout the night I received multiple questions from
guests as to who thought of the centerpieces and what kind of leaves they were.

Our bouquets were even better than anything I had imagined. They combined the earthiness I was looking
for with black tie elegance...perfect!! Thank you for leaving the stems loose (although I know this was more difficult to do!) to fulfill my wishes.

It was such a joy working with Katie. We both agreed, bright beautiful flowers worked perfectly

against the fuschia bridesmaids dresses......I really enjoyed working with bachelor buttons (the blue flower)

Revisiting this flower brought back so many natural garden memories.......The combination of flowers

were perfect......and accenting with fuschia brought these boquets into perfect balance...

When Katie arrived at "The Riverhouse" she rolled down her window in the limo and was

so excited as she said, " I knew they would be beautiful but these flowers are beyond my expections.

They are amazing." Hugs and kisses!!! We did it....... Bravo!!!

I love wedding flowers.......soft and romantic, classic in style and having a perfect

placement to showcase beautiful wedding flowers is always a plus. "The Riverhouse" offers us

The Royal Ballroom at Water's Edge looked ready for a grand party when we finished

decorating the 4 columns with white drapes and twinkling lights. The bride and groom

loved curly willow branching for centerpieces. We embellished with hanging crystals and french votives, shimmer and glitter everywhere.

Look closely and you can see the votives.....as I am not the greatest

photographer.

The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station does a wonderful job showcasing all their menus for each

new bride to "taste." We are given the opportunity to showcase centerpieces.......always great fun.

I was offered navy and copper linens........I really wanted to explore the wonderful floral textures to help create that "WEDDING" feeling.......Wedding design (we see in magazines) is taking on a more modern

approach. I love flowers in soft textures with a modern edge or modern colors with a soft design......

We were invited meet the brides and showcase at the tasting......We created this fall wedding bouquet and raffled it off......# 20........The bride was so excited, the smile on her face, priceless!!!!

..........makes my job so much fun........Yes, you could say I have the most amazing job..(I hear this

often)......Bravo!!! to The Riverhouse.....as always, they "STAND OUT" as one of the best Wedding

facilities we have in Connecticut.......and talking with the bride's that day, they too, agreed.

I found Bakes and Baldwin online during a search for wedding florists. I was struck by the simplicity, elegance and beauty of the website. I immediately decided to use them, because I thought my vision could be completed by them. I worked with Debra, who was very enthusiastic and sent me lots of ideas for all of my colors (which changed almost four times). In the midst of my wedding planning I came in to some unexpected financial difficulties, and she worked with me the whole way to make what I wanted and what I could do come together beautifully.

I am not a bride that was so into the bouquet, and now I have it drying in my house because I was so struck at the beauty of it! I hope my photographer got some great shots so I can send them along because Debra really did a gorgeous job with it. The colors that I requested were specific and wound up perfect!

My experience with Bakes & Baldwin was one filled with class, flexibility, and professionalism. Debra always got back to me quickly, and my flowers were there and perfectly kept when I got to my wedding site. I highly recommend her services.

Hey Debra,

It's Mara here. The first thing I'm going to write is that I can imagine how exhausted you are after weddings, etc. That's a lot of work.

The flowers were beautiful. They fit the venue, and the place cards fit the flowers etc. We all loved how the place looked, especially Ali and Scott. They were natural looking, yet sophisticated...just the look we were looking for.

They matched the setting of Saltwater so well, I could not get over it! They added the perfect amount of color in a classy, elegant, and natural way.... exactly what we were trying to go for! The bouquets were absolutely beautiful as well! Everyone was so pleased.

Debra was fantastic. We met and chatted about what we wanted for our wedding day and she took everything we said and made it happen. Debra managed to capture the fun and whimsy of the theme, (candy), putting rock candy in the centerpieces and also coordinating the colors of the day, (teal, burgundy, and pale gold), into the bouquets and ... Well, here are the Riverhouse "Girls." Kelly, director of corporate sales,
Ivy, director of off-site catering, and Libby, director of Wedding sales..
This "team" is very special to all you wonderful "Brides" thinking
about booking the Riverhouse. Great shot!!!

I am always looking for fun and creative ideas to capture the bride's eye.
A "WoW" factor. The LED lit pomiander ball floated in water
along with a hanging crystal inside the blush pink rose decorated cylinder.
Check out the absolutely beautiful colored damask linen, a great
choice from the library of gorgeous linens "The Riverhouse" supply.

We interview hundreds of brides each year and it is very easy to know the
upcoming yearly "Trends." Purple and Blue are "IN." Choosing from "The Riverhouse's
abundant choices of linens only help to bring forth these color trends
"WoW" to the calla lillies lit.
The feedback on these color palettes and designed centerpieces has been great.

Our third centerpiece was inspired again by bright modern citris green linens
with lavender napkins. "Modern" is in. These 3 cylinders with suspended orchids
and lavender LED lights underwater matched perfectly.

The Riverhouse linens have endless combinations......Great for the Brides and
even better for "us" your creative floral director.
